Product Information
What is a fruit puree?
Fruit puree is a thick, smooth product made from blending fresh fruits. The process begins by gathering high-quality fruits directly from farmers. Once the fruits arrive at our facility, they undergo a thorough cleaning process to remove any dirt or other contaminants. After cleaning, the fruits are peeled to remove inedible skins and then blended into a smooth consistency. This puree can be used in a variety of applications, including brewing, baking, cooking, and creating beverages. Our fruit purees are designed to retain the natural flavor and nutritional benefits of the original fruit, offering a convenient and versatile ingredient for both home and commercial use.
Are they pasteurized?
Yes, our fruit purees are pasteurized. This heat treatment process kills any harmful bacteria and ensures the product is safe for consumption. Pasteurization also helps to extend the shelf life of the puree without the need for artificial preservatives
Does it have any other ingredients different than fruit?
It contains Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) that is used to avoid oxidation of the puree. Oxidation is a reaction that takes place when oxygen has access to the puree. This will change the color, mostly turning it black if we do not put any Vitamin C on it. Although the aseptic bag protects the fruit puree, Vitamin C assures that this event won't take place. It does not contain any colorants or artificial preservatives.
What is the shelf life?
The shelf life of our fruit purees is up to 1 year when stored at a maximum temperature of 75°F. This extended shelf life is a significant benefit for both home and commercial users, as it allows for bulk purchasing without the worry of rapid spoilage. Our aseptic packaging further protects the puree, ensuring it remains fresh and safe to use over this period.
Using the Product
How to use it?
Open the box, take out the aseptic bag, cut any of the corners, and then just pour it into the tank. Sanitize before cutting. The bag has a valve but it is only for filling purposes.
How much puree should I use for beer brewing?
The amount of fruit puree to use for beer brewing can vary depending on the desired flavor intensity and the stage at which you add the puree. Generally, you can use anywhere from 1/2 lb to 2 lbs of puree per gallon of beer. If you add the puree during the fermentation process, you might want to use more, as some of the sugars in the puree will ferment out, potentially reducing the intensity of the fruit flavor.
What if I have leftovers?
If you have leftovers, it’s important to store them properly to maintain their quality and prevent spoilage. Place the leftovers in the refrigerator as soon as possible, and they can be kept refrigerated for up to one week. We recommend transferring the leftover puree to another clean and sanitized container, such as a bottle or jar, to prevent contamination. Ensure the container is well-sealed to avoid contact with oxygen, which can cause oxidation and affect the color and flavor of the puree. Always use clean utensils when handling the leftovers to maintain hygiene and prevent the introduction of bacteria. Proper storage ensures that your leftover puree remains fresh and safe to use, allowing you to make the most of your product without unnecessary waste.
How to open the bag?
Open the box, take out the aseptic bag, cut any of the corners of the bag (you can use scissors), and then just pour it into the tank. The bag has a spout but it is only for filling purposes.
Can I reseal the bag with leftovers?
No. We suggest putting the leftovers in another clean and sanitized recipient (e.g., bottle), well-sealed, avoiding contact with oxygen and keeping it refrigerated for up to three weeks.
